• Munroe Named to United Soccer Coaches Men's Scholar All-East Region Second Team

    Kansas City, MO.--Clark University junior, Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) earned a spot on the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-East Region Second Team. To earn this recognition the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average ofa 3.3 or higher, be in their junior or senior year, and have shown significant athletic achievement through the current season. The All-East Region Scholar Athletes were divided into three teams for a total of 33 student-athletes.
  • Paul W. Phillips Announces Retirement After 2018-19 Season

    WORCESTER, Mass.— After 21 years as the Clark University head men’s basketball coach, Paul W. Phillips has announced his retirement following the 2018-2019 season. Phillips retires after 31 seasons spent as a head basketball coach, which included 10 years at Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass. With the 2018-2019 season still in progress, Phillips currently holds a cumulative 438-360 record. The Athletic Department would like to thank Coach Phillips for his abundance of time, support, and knowledge he has given to not only the basketball teams that have come and gone from Clark, but also to the Clark University and Worcester community as a whole.

    The Clark University women’s basketball team faced a setback to the Rams of Suffolk University on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match-up at the Kneller Athletic Center. The game saw three ties and four lead changes before the Rams were able to pull away in the final quarter to take home the 13-point victory.

    North Dartmouth, Mass. - The men’s swimming and diving team came up short in a tough contest against Umass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Corsairs beat the Cougars by a score of 189 to 94. 
  • Cougars Trounce Corsairs, 145-112

    North Dartmouth, Mass. -  The Clark women’s swimming and diving team came away with a big win at Umass Dartmouth on Friday night. The Cougars beat the Corsairs by a score of 145 to 112 with 8 different Cougars getting on the winners podium. The night started with a bang as Clark took the win in the first event the 400 Yard Medley Relay behind the stellar effort of Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn), Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn), Olivia Winters (Maplewood, NJ), Allison Dubick (Cornwall, NY).  They finished a full 20 seconds ahead of their competitors with a time of 3:23.48.

  • Men's Basketball Rallies to Victory Over Rams, 75-64

    The Clark University men’s basketball team picked up their third straight victory as they downed the Rams of Framingham State University in non-conference action on Thursday evening. Junior Brendan Kittredge (Clinton, Mass.) and sophomore Biko Gayman (Fort Pierce, Fla.) combined for 32 of Clark’s points with 17 and 15 respectively in the victory.

    Kansas City, MO.--Clark University junior Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) was named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's All-New England Second Team. Munroe is joined by 13 other Division III New England men's soccer standouts on the Second Team. The First Team All-New England lists 13 student-athletes while the Third Team is comprised of 17 men's soccer players from the region.

    Worcester, Mass. - The Clark swim teams traveled to cross town rival, Worcester Polytechnical Institute on Friday to compete across three days in the prestigious Gompei Invitational. Fifteen teams from all over the Atlantic states converged to compete in Worcester. At the end of the event, finished 14th with 278 points.

First year Joel Arteaga (Wyncote, Penn.) posted his second double-double of the season with 20 points, including six in the overtime period, and 10 rebounds.

The match is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Lahue Physical Education Center.

    The Clark University men’s basketball team battled hard in an ultimate setback at Connecticut College on Tuesday evening in non-conference action. After trailing by as many as 20 points in the first half, the Cougars fought back to tie game in the second half, 78-78, with just under three minutes remaining. The Camels pulled together for the final minutes of play to hold on for the final 87-83 victory.

    Worcester, Mass.—The Clark University Athletic Department honored the late Mr. Bill Gibbons prior to the women’s basketball game on November 14th at the Kneller Athletic Center. Mr. Gibbons became well-known as the “Voice of the Cougars” at the Clark basketball games. In his honor his family was presented with a memorial microphone that reads “In Memory of Bill Gibbons, The Voice of the Cougars”.
