Boston, Mass. – AJ James (Stamford, Conn.) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Second-Team All-Conference as a defender it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The honor for James comes after a record-setting 2017 season in which the Cougars won a school-record 13 games and advanced to the conference title game for the first time in school history.
2017 was a bounce back season for James after missing part of 2016 with an injury. He finished 2017 with seven caused turnovers and 15 ground balls, while helping lead a defense that gave up the third fewest goals in the league this year and allowed just 8.22 goals per game – the second fewest in the conference.
