Worcester, Mass.--The Clark University men's swimming and diving team fell to the visiting Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth, 105-92, in the non-conference meet on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Center Pool.
First year Eric Cobert (Newton, Mass.) finished second in the men's 1000 yard freestyle in a personal best time of 10:58.14. In the third men's event of the day, the 200 yard freestyle, junior Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla.) took first place for Clark in a time of 1:51.38. Freshman Nick Sakoff (New York, N.Y.) crushed his personal best in the 200 yard IM, touching in 2:13.46 for second place.
Senior Steven Castiglione (North Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Rowan Moody (Ellington, Conn.) placed second and third respectively in the men's 1 meter dive. Castiglione posted a score of 241.50 while Moody earned a 187.65 score.
Junior Dylan Schrama (Taunton, Mass.) finished at the top in the men's 100 yard butterfly in 56.85. Ortega also found himself in first place after the 100 yard freestyle when he finished in a personal best 50.21.
In the final diving event of the day, the 3 meter dive, Castiglione and Moody placed second and third again with scores of 215.85 and 206.85.
Junior Bill Holloman (Avon, Conn.) wrapped up the first place finishes for Clark in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:03.81 finish.
Clark is back in action on January 11th when they host Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action a 1:00 p.m. Umass Dartmouth takes on Wheaton and WPI at Wheaton on January 17th at 6:30 p.m.
