Worcester, Mass. – Clark University senior outfielder Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) has been named to the Worcester Area All-Stars Second-Team it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The teams are compiled using recommendations and voting from the sports information directors at the area's nine colleges. Those schools include Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Becker College, Clark University, Fitchburg State, Holy Cross, Nichols College, Worcester State and WPI.

Mackey had a standout senior campaign that saw her eclipse the 100-hit plateau and lead the Cougars in several statistical categories. She finished the season with a team-leading .376 batting average, three homeruns, 16 RBI, 18 runs scored and 35 hits.

She had numerous highlights during the 2017 campaign, including leading the Scarlet and White to an upset of No. 19 Springfield College when she delivered the game-winning run courtesy of a walk-off sacrifice fly. Mackey also homered in her final game at O'Brien Field on Senior Day in front of a host of family and friends and hit a homer in each game of the doubleheader at Coast Guard.

She wraps up her stellar career on the field with a .363 career batting average, while ranking tenth in all-time hits (131), sixth in doubles (33) while starting all 122 games of her career.
