Worcester, Mass.--Clark University women's basketball junior, Ogechi Ezemma (Hope Valley, R.I.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Ezemma had a solid week for the Cougars with highlights on the defensive end. She averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game. In a setback to conference foe Wheaton Ezemma notched 16 pints while adding 10 boards and four steals. In a non-conference victory over Nichols the Hope Valley native racked in 13 points while adding nine boards and an impressive seven blocks.
Ezemma leads the Cougars this season averaging 14.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 1.9 blocks per game. She boasts a total of 116 points and 69 rebounds so far this season.
The Clark University women's basketball team is back in action on Tuesday, December 11th when they host UMass-Boston in non-conference action at 5:00 p.m.
