Worcester, Mass.--The Clark University women's swimming and diving team competed in the 2017 Gompei Invititational over the weekend. The Cougars competed alongside 12 other institutions: Assumption College, Bentley, Brandeis, Bryant University, Babson College, Merrimack College, Stevens Institute of Technology, The College of Saint Rose, Rowan University, Roger Williams University, Southern Connecticut State University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute of Technology. Rowan University took the top team score of the weekend finishing with 4602 points.
First year Katy Flesher (Waukegan, Ill.) swam a season best 2:35.65 in the women's 200 Yard IM preliminary round to start the weekend strong. She was trailed by junior Jacie Carson (Eugene, Ore.) who also swam a personal best in the event, touching in 2:43.99.
-Senior Charlotte Gray (Sandy Hook, Conn.) finished the preliminary round for the women's 50 Yard Freestyle at the top for Clark in 26.26. Freshman Allison Dubick (Cornwall, N.Y.) checked in behind her in 26.40.
-Senior Jenna Harrison-Peters (Silver Spring, Md.) took 43rd in the first round of the 200 Yard Breaststroke, touching in 2:44.65.
-Flesher posted her second personal best of the day in the Women's 100 Yard Butterfly event in 1:09.16.
-Freshman Alison Falder (New Milford, Conn.) took 37th place overall in the Women's 1650 Yard Freestyle finals with a 20:07.12 finish.
-WPI took first place after the first day with a top team score of 1612. Rowan University was right behind them with a combined score of 1516 through the 15th event.
-Harrison-Peters boasted a season best time of 5:21.23 in the women's 400 Yard IM preliminary round.
-Junior Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn.) placed 8th in the first round of the women's 50 Yard Butterfly event with a 27.54 finish. Sophomore Emma Bulman (Bridgewater, Mass.) recorded a season best time of 30.18 in the same event while Carson defeated her personal best time as well with a 32.99 finish.
-Rowan University finished in first place at the end of day two with a team score of 3480.5 while WPI was right behind them with 3440 total points through the 33rd event.
-Muratori finished the 100 Yard Freestyle preliminary round in a season best time of 57.75.
-Harrison-Peters took 25th place in the 50 Yard Breaststroke finals (35.58) while Cownie and freshman Olivia Winters (Maplewood, N.J.) checked in just behind her in 27th and 28th place respectively. Winters posted a season best 36.02 finish.
-Rowan finished at the top with a final team score of 4602 while WPI claimed second place with 4436 points.
