Boston, Mass. – Clark University junior outfielder Daniel Lima (Manchester, Conn.) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball player of the week it was announced on Monday by the league office.
In the midst of the best offensive stretch of his career, Lima had a hit in seven of the team's ten games and had three different games with two or more runs scored.
His best performance of the week came in a 14-6 loss to Eastern Mennonite when he went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base. In the following game against the Royals, Lima had three stolen bases giving him six on the season.
In the outfield, he has handled all 14 of his opportunities without an error.
Lima and the rest of the Cougars (2-8) will return to the diamond on Sunday with a doubleheader against Bates College. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
