Cougars 10th At NEWMAC Championships

Northampton, Mass. – For the second straight season, the Clark University women's cross country team finished tenth at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) team championships on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Smith College.

Freshman Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) was once again the Cougars' top performer, wrapping up the 5K race in 20:10, good for 30th place.

MIT, who had five of the top ten finishers, won their eighth straight league title led by individual champion Sarah Quinn, who blazed her way to a time of 18:54.

The Cougars' next finishers were Saraneh Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Mass.) and freshman Autumn Perez (Watervliet, N.Y.), who were right behind one another in 60th and 61st places, respectively.

Two more runners – Erin Glennie (Standish, Maine) and Lauren Dube (Windsor, Conn.) – were 66th and 67th, turning in times of 22:47 each.

Clark will run again on Saturday, November 15 at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships at Mount Greylock High School.
